Tales of Titanquisitor: The Hall Strips #16 – “Some Kingdom”

For weeks now, Thalia has been wandering around Titanquisitor Hall quoting and reciting Death to Smoochy at anyone unfortunate enough to be within earshot. Most of us assumed she was doing what Thalia does best: being obnoxious. Turns out there might have been a little more behind the bit than she was letting on.

It all started with a Pharaoh, an empty kingdom, and one joke that suddenly wasn’t quite as funny anymore.

What started with Thalia endlessly quoting a movie somehow turned into our first little Hall Strip character arc.

Because apparently beneath all the noise, the countdowns, the terrible movies, and the relentless need to make certain everyone in Titanquisitor Hall knows she’s in the room, Thalia had convinced herself that everybody else belonged here for a reason and she was just… here.

Turns out that’s not how the Hall works. She doesn’t have to run gaming. She doesn’t have to issue Decrees. She doesn’t need wrestling, or a countdown, or even a weekly column with her name stamped across it to earn her seat. She’s Thalia, and that’s enough, although maybe there’s a feature of her own waiting for her in October.

Just don’t tell anybody she said any of that. She has a reputation to maintain.
