PlayStation Plus Essential Games May 2026 Announced
Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus monthly games for May 2026, and it’s a solid lineup. EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols will all be available to download starting Tuesday, May 5.
EA Sports FC 26 is the headliner and the one that’s going to move the needle for most subscribers. The latest entry in EA’s football series comes with an overhauled gameplay experience that lets you toggle between Authentic and Competitive gameplay presets, which is EA’s answer to the community split between people who want simulation football and people who want to win online at all costs. Football Ultimate Team gets Tournaments, Live Events, and a refreshed Rivals and Champs experience. The game features over 20,000 players across 750+ clubs and national teams in 120+ stadiums and 35+ leagues. PlayStation Plus members also get an exclusive FC 26 PlayStation Plus Icons Pack as a bonus add-on, redeemable while the game is part of the monthly lineup.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a PS5-exclusive Soulslike action RPG set during the final years of China’s Ming Dynasty. You play as Wuchang, a female pirate warrior who wakes up with no memory in the land of Shu, which is dealing with warring factions and a phenomenon called Feathering that’s turning people into monsters. Wuchang herself is afflicted with it, which means you can eventually harness that power alongside various fighting styles, hidden weapons, ancient firearms, and skills harvested from defeated enemies. If you’re into the Soulslike genre and want something with a distinct setting, this is worth the download.
Nine Sols is a hand-drawn 2D action-platformer with Sekiro-inspired deflection-based combat. You play as a vengeful hero on a mission to kill the 9 Sols, the powerful rulers of a realm once controlled by an ancient alien race. It’s lore-heavy, gorgeous to look at, and the combat has real teeth to it. This one flew under the radar for a lot of people when it first released, so getting it through Plus is a good opportunity to check it out.
If you haven’t grabbed April’s PlayStation Plus games yet, you have until Monday, May 4 to add Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, and Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream to your library before they rotate out.
All three May titles are available starting May 5 for all PlayStation Plus members.
