CD Projekt Red has released the official patch notes for Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5, also known as the Edgerunners 2 Update, ahead of its October 22, 2026 launch. The free update introduces new quests, dual-wielding combat, customizable cyberware, additional cosmetics, and cross-platform mod support, including on consoles.
Update 2.5 launches October 22 on PC, Mac through Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version will receive the update in the following days.
New Edgerunners Content and Quests
The update introduces Clampdown, a new side quest set before the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. Players can unlock it by completing The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, then waiting for a message. The quest also offers a new five-piece equipment set inspired by King, a character from the anime.
Night City is also getting HKGN 102.0 FM, a new radio station featuring music from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series.
Another new quest, Welcome to Paradise, takes players on a guided tour narrated by Richard Night. It unlocks after completing The Heist and reaching Street Cred level 15.
Additionally, 12 new Minor Arcana Tarot Cards are scattered throughout Night City. Finding one activates an extension of the Fool on the Hill quest, with a special reward available for collecting all twelve.
Dual-Wielding and Customizable Cyberware
One of the biggest gameplay additions is Double Trouble, a new perk in the Cool skill tree that allows players to dual-wield Power Pistols and Revolvers. Four supporting perks expand the new combat style.
Players can also customize the appearance of their hand cyberware, including Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, and the Projectile Launch System. Five new specialists called Glamdocs offer cyberware skins and color customization at their respective shops.
New clothing collections, hairstyles previously exclusive to NPCs, additional vehicle skins, and Photo Mode poses are also included.
Console Mod Support Arrives
Perhaps the most significant announcement is the introduction of cross-platform mod support powered by mod.io.
Players on PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S can browse and install a curated selection of community-created mods directly through an in-game menu. CD Projekt Red says more mods will become available over time.
There is one important restriction: achievements and trophies cannot be earned on consoles while playing a modded save file.
Quality-of-Life Improvements and Performance Updates
Update 2.5 also introduces several improvements intended to make Night City easier to navigate and customize.
Save files are now grouped by individual playthroughs, apartment and vehicle stashes have new item filters, and consoles receive a field-of-view slider.
On the technical side, the update adds NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 support, improvements to ray-tracing performance, PlayStation 5 Pro optimizations, enhanced HDR rendering, and additional graphics options for supported PC and Mac hardware.
The patch also addresses several bugs, including an issue that could prevent progression during Things Done Changed, problems with PS5 HDR settings, and a Nintendo Switch 2 save error.
The complete list of changes is available in CD Projekt Red’s official patch notes.
