Tonight, the superstars of the World Wrestling Federation roll into the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, for LIVE WWF Friday Night SmackDown! action!
It’s the first SmackDown! since Saturday night’s WWF Money in the Bank, which saw SmackDown! superstar Tiffany Stratton capture the Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase. How will her relationship with reigning WWF Women’s Champion Chelsea Green change now that Tiffy is Miss Money in the Bank? That briefcase could certainly complicate things!
The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton is reaching a boiling point, and tonight the two will meet face-to-face. With tensions continuing to escalate, there’s no telling what might happen when these two get together.
In women’s action, Paige takes on Nikki Bella.
After the losses piled up and frustration boiled over, Damian Priest finally had enough of R-Truth’s carefree style and assaulted his former partner. Now the former WWF Tag Team Champions will settle their differences in the ring when Priest faces R-Truth.
The AAA Cruiserweight Championship will also be on the line LIVE tonight on SmackDown! when Rey Fenix defends against Ricky Saints!
WWF Friday Night SmackDown! airs LIVE tonight at 7 p.m. CT on USA Network!
Stinger’s View: Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes meet face-to-face, which means they’re talking and then brawling, not wrestling. What kind of show do you think this is?
I couldn’t care less about Paige or Nikki Bella. In reality, should Damian Priest against R-Truth even be a competitive match? I expect Priest to basically kill him. If it’s competitive, why even turn Priest? The whole point is to get him back on track and stop being a comedy act.
The AAA Cruiserweight Championship match is a pleasant surprise and should be a good, fun match. So at least one interesting thing has been announced for tonight’s SmackDown!
Somehow, WWF’s official preview doesn’t even mention Tiffany Stratton and the Money in the Bank briefcase. So you’re welcome, WWF, for including it here and going above and beyond in my esteemed duties as Titanquisitor’s Ringside Correspondent.
