Myst and Riven Are Coming to PlayStation 5 and PSVR2 on May 19
Myst and Riven are both launching on new platforms on May 19, 2026. Myst is coming to PS5 and PSVR2. Riven is coming to PS5, PSVR2, Xbox Series X|S, and the Microsoft Store. Both games launch at 9 AM PDT. Myst is already available on Xbox and PC.
If you’ve never played either of these, here’s the short version: Myst and Riven are two of the most important puzzle adventure games ever made. The originals launched in the 1990s and sold millions of copies during an era when most people thought PC gaming meant spreadsheets. Cyan rebuilt both of them from the ground up for modern hardware, and these versions are the definitive way to experience them. Myst drops you on a mysterious island and asks you to figure out what happened through exploration and puzzle solving. Riven sends you to a crumbling world controlled by a man who thinks he’s a god, and tasks you with solving its puzzles, rescuing someone, and escaping before the whole thing falls apart.
Both games on PS5 support PSVR2 as optional (you don’t need the headset to play), PS5 Pro enhancement, ray tracing toggle via Performance mode, HDR, 4K, and Power Saver mode. Riven on Xbox supports XPA certification, Xbox Series X|S optimization, ray tracing toggle, HDR, and 4K. Myst already has all of that on Xbox.
Both games are $34.99 each across all platforms. Xbox players can save 20% on Riven by pre-ordering before May 26. Both games are available to wishlist now on all platforms.
If you grew up in the 90s and remember Myst being the game your parents had on the family computer that nobody could figure out, this is your chance to go back and actually finish it. And if you’ve never touched either game, there’s a reason people are still talking about them 30 years later. I played Myst on PC back in the late 90s, and my brother was hooked on it for a while. I never got around to Riven, so here’s a chance to remedy that.
Myst and Riven launch May 19, 2026 on PS5 and PSVR2. Riven also launches on Xbox Series X|S and the Microsoft Store the same day.
