Titan Quest II Reveals Major Update Focused on Summons, Talismans, and Weapon Reworks

THQ Nordic has dropped a new teaser for Titan Quest II detailing a significant upcoming update that brings the summon system back in a big way and expands on it considerably compared to what the original game offered.

The centerpiece of the update is summon skills being integrated across every mastery in the game. Summons now function as sustained skills similar to auras, meaning they reserve a portion of your energy to stay active rather than being a one-time cast. How you use them is up to you. Players who prefer a more hands-off approach can let their summons handle the bulk of combat while they provide backup, while players who want more active involvement can manually trigger summon abilities or use active skills to empower their minions mid-fight.

The teaser showed off several summons including the Core Dweller from Earth Mastery, the Automaton from Forge Mastery, and Wisps. Summon customization comes through modifiers and new summon-related passives that let you tune your minion strategy to fit your build.

The update also introduces Talismans, a new off-hand item category aimed primarily at mage builds as an alternative to shields. Talismans provide a guaranteed energy increase though the teaser notes they have uses for non-caster builds as well. On top of that, every existing epic weapon in the game is getting reworked to strengthen its thematic identity and overall power level. THQ Nordic specifically highlighted Trigon’s Tail, The Harp, and Paradex’s Sphere as examples of what the rework looks like in practice.

The update also emphasizes tactical positioning in combat. The War Banner ability provides periodic healing and damage buffs for allies while debuffing enemies, and the design intent is clearly to reward players who draw enemies into these auras to maximize the effectiveness of their summons and buffs at the same time.

No release date for the update was announced in the teaser.
