Dragonkin: The Banished — Full Version 1.0 and Console Launch Details
The latest overview trailer for Dragonkin: The Banished has confirmed the final launch details for the game as it exits Early Access. The 1.0 version is scheduled to release on March 16, 2026, for PC, followed by the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S launch on March 19, 2026. Console players who purchase the Blood Scales Edition get access on March 16th.
Hero Classes and Mechanics
The game features four distinct hunter classes, each utilizing a specific elemental affinity:
- The Knight: A melee-focused warrior mastering the fire lance.
- The Barbarian: A heavy hitter infused with dragon blood, utilizing ice-based powers.
- The Tracker: A ranged specialist employing bows, traps, and physical agility.
- The Oracle: A caster capable of manipulating electricity and psychic visions.
Every hero is accompanied by a Wyrmling, a companion that provides automated elemental support. This pet can be customized and eventually enters “symbiosis” with the player’s character to amplify specific skill effects.
The Ancestral Grid System
The core of character progression is the Ancestral Grid, a non-linear skill system that functions similarly to a puzzle. Players collect hexagonal Fragments as loot, which contain active skills or modifiers. These are manually placed into the grid to create builds. As characters level up toward the cap of 50, the grid expands, allowing for higher-ranking skills and more complex modifier chains.
City Management and Social Features
The City of Montescail serves as the central hub and base of operations. The city features its own progression track from Level 1 to 50:
Expansion: Visual and functional growth based on player achievements.
Craftsmen: Unlocking and upgrading vendors (Enchanters, Artificers, etc.) provides better equipment and service optimization.
Multiplayer Hub: Supports up to 32 players in the hub simultaneously, with shared chests for equipment and fragment trading.
Multiplayer and Endgame
Dragonkin: The Banished supports full solo play, two-player local couch co-op, and up to four-player online co-op. The 1.0 launch introduces a revamped Hunting Board and endgame activities, including Dungeon Purification and the Test of Will. Difficulty and loot quality can be further modified using Draconic Tarot cards, allowing players to set specific bonuses and penalties for high-tier hunts.
Dragonkin: The Banished is out this week on March 19th. Purchase the Blood Scales Edition and get 72 hour early access beginning on March 16th. You’ll also get five skin packs for the City, 17 visual effects for your hero and portals, 40 pieces of equipment, and four visual effects for your pet.
