Two-time WWF Hall of Famer Ric Flair was hospitalized Friday, October 23, after suffering a fall outside a restaurant in Tampa, Florida, just hours after revealing that he was dealing with a blood clot in his leg.
According to TMZ Sports, the 77-year-old wrestling legend fell outside a Wagamama restaurant, suffering cuts to his head and the area around his eye. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, and Flair was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
Earlier Friday, the Nature Boy announced on social media that he would be unable to attend Washington State Horror Con in Seattle because of the blood clot. Flair explained that his doctors had restricted his travel to three or four hours and that he was scheduled to undergo a procedure to treat the affected vein. He apologized to fans for canceling the appearance, emphasizing that his health and recovery had to come first.
Fortunately, Flair’s daughter, WWF superstar Charlotte Flair, provided a reassuring update later that evening. In a post on X, Charlotte joked that her father had blamed his fall on The Ultimate Warrior dropping him on his head, before adding that he was going to be okay.
Additional details regarding Flair’s recovery and potential release from the hospital have not yet been announced.
