Stephanie Vaquer is officially cleared to return to the ring, and La Primera won’t have to wait long for her next opportunity. The former Women’s World Champion will face Becky Lynch on Monday’s edition of WWF RAW, with the winner earning a shot at Liv Morgan’s Women’s World Championship.
Vaquer announced the encouraging news Saturday in a video shared on social media, dramatically tossing aside the crutches she had been using while recovering from an ankle injury. She then delivered a simple message to Lynch, telling The Man that she would see her Monday.
The injury occurred during the Women’s World Championship Triple Threat Match at Money in the Bank on October 10, where Morgan defeated Vaquer and Lynch to capture the championship. Although Vaquer returned to action briefly during a live event in Hawaii, she had not received clearance to compete on RAW.
Lynch confronted Vaquer during Monday’s October 19 broadcast, expressing her desire for a singles match once La Primera was medically cleared. RAW General Manager Adam Pearce subsequently confirmed Saturday that the match would take place on October 26 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California, with the winner becoming the number-one contender for Morgan’s championship.
The encounter will mark the first singles meeting between Vaquer and Lynch, adding another significant matchup to Monday’s show. Also announced is a No Disqualification Match between Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.
Stinger’s View
It’s good to see Stephanie Vaquer healthy and ready to compete again. Vaquer versus Lynch is a match worth looking forward to, especially with a championship opportunity at stake. Here’s hoping both women deliver a great contest Monday night.
