Tonight, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling returns to the Dothan Civic Center in Dothan, Alabama, for another edition of Thursday Night iMPACT! on AMC!
The fallout from Bound for Glory continues as TNA International Champion Jason Hotch defends his championship against former Order 4 leader Mustafa Ali in a Two Out of Three Falls Match. Hotch captured the championship at Bound for Glory, and Ali is looking to regain the gold from his former stablemate.
The X-Division Championship picture will also become clearer tonight when Rich Swann, KC Navarro, Cedric Alexander, and Fabian Aichner compete in a four-way number-one contender’s match. The winner will earn an opportunity to challenge Amazing Red for the X-Division Championship.
In singles action, Avery Styles makes his TNA iMPACT! singles debut against Joe Alonzo, with Frankie Kazarian accompanying Styles to ringside. Alonzo has been making plenty of noise lately, and tonight he’ll have an opportunity to back up his words against the son of AJ Styles.
Director of Operations Daria Rae returns from suspension tonight and will kick off the show. With her ongoing issues involving TNA Knockouts World Champion Indi Hartwell, it will be interesting to hear what she has to say.
We’ll also hear from Allie and Kiera Hogan following their loss of the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship. Allie’s recent mysterious interactions with Rosemary have raised questions about the team’s future, and perhaps tonight we’ll get some answers.
TNA iMPACT! airs tonight at 8 p.m. CT on AMC, AMC+, and TNA+.
Stinger’s View
This looks like a pretty solid card, especially the International Championship match. Jason Hotch and Mustafa Ali have a personal rivalry, and a Two Out of Three Falls Match is a good way to settle things. Hopefully, TNA gives them enough time to make the stipulation worthwhile.
I’m also looking forward to the X-Division four-way. Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander, KC Navarro, and Fabian Aichner should provide plenty of entertaining action, and I appreciate that the winner actually earns a championship opportunity by beating other contenders. What a concept!
Avery Styles making his singles debut is interesting, too. Obviously, having AJ Styles as your father brings some pretty high expectations, but I’d rather see what the kid can do before making comparisons. Having Frankie Kazarian in his corner certainly won’t hurt.
And I’m curious about what’s happening with Allie and Rosemary. TNA has always had a knack for its more unusual supernatural storylines, and I wouldn’t mind seeing that side of the Knockouts division explored again.
Overall, this should be an entertaining episode. The two championship-related matches are enough to get my attention, and the ongoing Bound for Glory fallout gives TNA plenty of stories to develop as we head toward Destination X.
