Introducing Titanquisitor! – The Reincarnation of Vortainment

In April 2011, I opened up this blog here on WordPress.com under the title Vortex Effect. A few years later, the domain name was lost but the blog carried on under the new name, Vortainment.

In April 2022, I abandoned this blog and opened up a separate one under an expensive plan with a new name. That was LootPlex.

LootPlex was intended to be a fresh start and a proper attempt at a website rather than just a blog. Despite a good solid effort in the first year, it never gained any traction.

Probably because it never seemed to be properly indexed on Google for whatever reason.

Sadly, even two years after this particular blog was left for dead, it still got way more traffic than the one that I was actively updating and spending money on did.

Now the LootPlex experiment is over with, and I’m back home on this blog.

A lot of the old posts are still up, so it maintains some of its decade plus history. But it’s a new start for this blog.

Welcome to Titanquisitor, the reincarnated Vortainment (or Vortex Effect).

Vortainment was a direct continuation of Vortex Effect, just with a different name because of the loss of the domain name. Still the name meant “a Vortex of Entertainment.”

As you can see, this new beginning doesn’t carry on the Vortex name in anyway.

Titanquisitor is simply a combination of Titan and Inquisitor; my way, as a games blogger, of paying tribute to two of my favorite ARPG’s and games in general: Titan Quest and Warhammer 40K Inquisitor – Martyr.

It’s a return to form of being “non-professional.” That is, no more trying to masquerade as a proper website.

Titanquisitor is a blog, my personal blog at that since it doesn’t have a staff of others contributing to it like its predecessors did (though most of their work remains).

While I will try to keep it updated frequently with gaming news, game logs, reviews, game guides and some wrestling coverage, history shows there will probably be stretches of weeks where I don’t post anything.

That’s the nature of doing it as a hobby in my free time when I’m not playing a game (and there’s a lot of good ones coming out soon to distract me).

I had a nice little community here at one point in time, and I’d like to get it back. I know quite a few folks were subscribed via email to the older versions of this blog, and you’ve suddenly started getting new post emails once more (albeit under a name you don’t recognize).

I have a lot of plans for Titanquisitor.

I will of course be back to covering Destiny 2, but I’ll be spending a lot of time writing content for my most anticipated games (Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Titan Quest 2), plus guides for other games like WWE 2K24 and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth as well.

And I really want to get back in the habit of reviewing both games and movies again. So, there’s a lot of original and exclusive content coming in the form of reviews, game guides, and wrestling columns.

In addition to writing content here, I’m also planning on finally getting the old YouTube channel fired back up and possibly Twitch too.

If you’re not already, please give Titanquisitor a Follow here on WordPress or subscribe via email. Also drop a follow on X/Twitter and please subscribe to the aforementioned YouTube channel as well.
